Memorial Tree Planting and Sponsorship at Hubbard’s Hills
Louth Town Council is offering the opportunity to sponsor the planting of a tree in memory of a loved one at Hubbard’s Hills.
Louth Town Council supports the needs and principles of allowing trees as memorials in Hubbard’s Hills, but is also mindful that these facilities have many uses and are enjoyed by a wide range of people. Louth Town Council understands that the needs of users may sometimes contrast eachother, therefore, the Council endeavors to be respectful and sympathetic to all visitors of Hubbard’s Hills and will ensure that the issue of memorial trees is managed and regulated with respect for the mutual benefit of all, whilst guaranteeing to maintain and enhance the appearance of Hubbard’s Hills and not detract from its prime recreational purpose.
Memorial trees will be approved at the discretion of the Town Clerk who will decide on the location that the tree will be planted in, the size of the tree required and the species of tree. Approved trees will be planted during autumn and winter planting season by the Council. The total cost of the tree, any tree guard required, and installation will be dependent on the size and site of the tree. All costs will be paid by the applicant, and these will include administration fees, which must be paid (exclusive of VAT) prior to any purchasing or planting. Louth Town Council will not accept responsibility or liability for damage to or loss of memorial trees or tree guards, and will not allow plaques of any description to be placed on the guards of memorial trees or fixed to any tree or post. No flowers or similar memorials shall be permitted to mark the site at any time. The Council will not grant permission for memorials to pets.
Please note that the burial and scattering of ashes is strictly prohibited at Hubbard’s Hills.
