Migrant Workers and the EU Settlement Scheme

I am writing from Citizens Advice South Lincolnshire as part of the EU Settlement Scheme Team.

We continue to provide advice and assistance to migrants in the East Coast area to ensure that EU, EEA and Swiss nationals are aware of the service we provide in relation to migrant status and the EU settlement Scheme.

Many migrants do not know that they can still apply for settled and pre-settled status even though the deadline has passed.

We are working hard to provide advice with general queries including:

·  Benefits

·  EU Settlement Scheme

·  Employment

·  Housing

·  Debt

Our service is free, confidential and impartial, delivered through Citizens Advice South Lincolnshire (CASL).

I would be grateful if you could share some information on the services we provide together with the publicity material. For your ease, please find below an appendix which you may consider appropriate to share in worker communications such as email or social media.

This would help provide information about the Migrant Worker Helpline, the free support service we offer and our contact details to anyone who may need our support.

We can also provide laminated posters that are easy to clean if you require them and they meet COVID-19 rules.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to email me: migrantworkersga@citizensadvicesouthlincs.org.uk

I would be grateful to know how you will display our information, or even anything you have done so far to tackle the issue and if you have any idea of how we can help any further.

Kind regards

APPENDIX

Suggested Wording for communications:

Citizens Advice are reaching out to the local migrant community to make them aware of the services they provide for those individuals who should apply for pre settled or settled status if they have not already done so. Although the deadline has passed, IT IS NOT TOO LATE TO APPLY for you and your family.

If you have pre-settled status and have children born in the UK, they need to apply to the EU settlement scheme.

If you have settled status, your children born in the UK are eligible for British citizenship.
