Marking an important milestone in the civic calendar, St. James’ Church played host to the Louth Town Council annual Civic Service on Sunday 27th September. The Mayor and Consort of Louth, Councillor Mrs. Karen and Mr. James Parsons, were delighted to bring together local representatives, visiting dignitaries, and supporters from across Lincolnshire to celebrate their year in office.
Speaking after the event, the Mayor shared her gratitude:
“I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended the service and made it such a memorable occasion. Thank you to Henry Atherton for sharing his brilliant musical talent with us, and to our wonderful Brownies, Scouts and 1228 Squadron for bearing their organisations Standards and representing our youth so proudly!”
During the service, attendees enjoyed two original songs performed by Henry Atherton, as well as a reading of Psalm 23 by Peter Mackinder, read in authentic Lincolnshire dialect. The service was led by the Mayor’s Chaplain, Rev. Robert Mansfield, who delivered a moving sermon and afterwards, everyone was delighted to explore the Louth Food and Drink Festival.
