Louth Town Council - Working with the community to make Louth a better place to live and work

Election of Mayor 2025/26

At the Annual Louth Town Council meeting on Tuesday 20th May 2025, Councillor Mr. Darren Hobson was elected as Mayor of Louth and Chairman of the Council for 2025/26.  His wife, Mrs. Sarah-Jayne Hobson will support him as Mayoress.

Darren was born in and has lived his whole in Louth and feels very proud and privileged to have been elected to represent his hometown once again. He is passionate about the town and looks forward to the opportunity of meeting local people, businesses and organisations, as well as promoting Louth to the wider community.

Following the 2007 flooding in the town, Darren became involved with Louth Town Council and was the town’s volunteer Flood Warden for several years prior to joining the council in 2015. He is a professional photographer working both within Louth and elsewhere in Lincolnshire and beyond. This follows a career in education and long association with primary schools in the town, one of which he was a governor for 15 years.

Darren looks forward to once again finding fresh and different ways to engage with the community during his mayoral year whilst still upholding the traditions associated with the office and honouring the council’s heritage. In particular, he aims to understand the challenges facing local businesses and support them as well as engaging with local organisations. In addition, in his civic role he will represent the town and council both locally and elsewhere in Lincolnshire.

Councillor Mrs. Karen Parsons was elected Deputy Mayor for 2025/26.
