Active Travel Scheme in Louth – Public Meeting

Public Meeting

9th August 2022

Louth Town Council resolved in June 2022 to hold an official public town meeting to address the concerns over the proposed Active Travel Scheme on Mercer Row.  This meeting will take place on Tuesday 13th September 2022 from 6.30pm at the Royal British Legion Hall, Northgate, Louth.  The Council’s meeting is scheduled to be close to the end of the LCC consultation period to allow opinions to be based on as broad a version of the scheme as possible e.g., LCC still propose to install seating (parklets) from mid August 2022.

The Council hopes this meeting will give members of the public a chance to air their views on the proposed changes before the consultation period ends.  The meeting will be recorded, and Louth Town Council will be collating all feedback and views expressed during the meeting and sharing a full report with Lincolnshire County Council.

The Town Council will invite relevant Lincolnshire County Council and East Lindsey District Council representatives to attend the meeting as well as our local MP and media.

All are welcome and you are encouraged to share the details of this meeting with anyone who may be interested.  The Town Council is keen to gauge the full range of opinions regarding this issue to ensure all views are heard.  To this end, the Town Council will launch two surveys, one for the public and one for business.  These will go live in the third week of August.

Finally, please be aware that the public meeting scheduled for Wednesday 10th August has not been organised by Louth Town Council.  Any comments made by Louth Town Councillors are their own opinions and not those of Louth Town Council.
