19th November 2019 – As the festive season approaches, Louth Town Council has announced a new competition for homeowners wishing to share their festive displays!

18th November 2019, Louth: Louth Town Council has announced it will be running a new competition in the run up to Christmas 2019. Recognising the time and effort some residents put into decorating their homes at this time of year, the council will be offering prizes to those with the most elaborate exterior displays.

The Floral Enhancement Working group, who are also responsible for the Lovely Louth summer floral competition, has introduced ‘Light Up Louth’, a new ‘Winter’ competition acknowledging those households who go the extra mile to spread festive cheer.

The competition will be judged by Mayor, Fran Treanor and the Chair of the Floral Enhancement Working Group, Sue Crew. Judges will be looking for homes that shine bright with decorations that must be visible from the road.

Those entering, stand the chance of winning a great prize and also a coveted ‘Bauble’ trophy produced exclusively for the competition by AJ Embroidery.

Closing date for nominations is noon on Thursday 5th December 2019. Judging will take place on an evening after 4:30pm of the week commencing Monday 9th December 2019. Homes must be ready to go and lit up to be considered during this week. Winners will be notified by Monday 16th December and announced in the Louth Leader on Wednesday 18th December 2019.
