LOVELY LOUTH WINNERS 2007

Every year the Town Council organises the Lovely Louth Competition.  This is aimed at beautifying the town by encouraging floral decorations of all kinds so that shoppers, visitors and sightseers will come to enjoy the many facilities that Louth has to offer and in this we are pleased to have the support of the Louth Chamber of Business and East Lindsey District Council. 

The competition is run in five classes, with cups to be held by the winners for one year, and to be returned by 31st July 2008.  This year the competition closed on 27th July and judging took place shortly afterwards.

The Winners are:

Class 1 - Shops and business premises – display of tubs, hanging baskets, window boxes etc.  These must be         viewable by the public at any time. 1st Madeira House Care Home, 2nd Fir Close Nursing Home, 3rd Stewton House Nursing Home.

Class 2 - Licensed premises – arrangement of plants and flowers, including window boxes, hanging baskets, tubs and flower borders.  These must be viewable by the public at any time.  1st Newmarket Inn, 2nd My Father's Moustache, 3rd Mayfair Family Club, Birch Road.

Class 3 - Private houses – frontage display of tubs, hanging baskets, window boxes etc.  D. Lyall, Newton Terrace, Queen Street, 2nd G. Dales, Chestnut Drive, 3rd Rodney Dodge, Broadbank.

Class 4 - Private houses – gardens visible from the road.  1st K. Addison, St. Bernard's Avenue, 2nd M. Baldock, Trinity Lane

Class 5 - Private houses – gardens visible from the road.  Open to senior citizens only.  1st P. Willerton, Monks' Dyke Road,

Louth Town Council congratulates the winners and all those who entered the competition.
