ELECTION OF MAYOR 2007/08

On Friday 18th May 2007 Louth Town Council elected Councillor John Macdonald to be its Mayor for the 2007/08 year.  John joined the Council in June 1991.  He was previously Mayor in 1988. 

On accepting the position as Mayor of Louth, Councillor Macdonald said "It is nineteen years since I last had this honour.  Thank you Councillors for bestowing this honour upon me again.  The office of Mayor has changed significantly since I was last in office, there are now many appointments to attend outside of the town and district and even outside of the county.  I look forward to serving the town and attending as many events as I can to wave the flag for the town."
