ELECTION OF MAYOR 2008

On Friday 16th May 2008 Louth Town Council elected Councillor Francis W.P. Treanor to be its Mayor for the 2008/09 year.  Francis joined the Council in January 2005. He is a retired policeman who now runs the Louth Police Cadets and is heavily involved in voluntary work within the community.

On accepting the position as Mayor of Louth, Councillor Treanor said "Fellow Councillors, may I thank you for your support and confidence in electing me to be your next Mayor.  Jane and I are looking forward to an exciting and fulfilling year representing the Town and its people.  I would also like to thank everyone who sent cards, letters, emails etc., congratulating us and offering us their best wishes".
